Flood in our area

Our area is now flood affected. Today, water is flowing one foot above the road. Flood has not come up as a threat yet of crossing our gate, but its still very creepy to move along the roads full of water. By the way, Water is super clear here in this part of the city, you can actually see fishes playing around your feet while walking in the road!

My mom learns Bangla typing

Just yesterday I took my mom to the PC for the first time in her life to learn typing. and inevitably I guided her to best Bangla phonetic software Avro. Avro new version is out and users don’t need anything more to read and write Bangla in the web and in the local PC. It automatically installs Bangla font, and adjusts the System setting, all my mom had to do is click it to Bangla, and start writing. With only one hour training, she is now very fluent, and planning to write Bangla in big scale.

InshaAllah, very soon my website will be graced with her own biography.

Download Avro from Omicornlab or from here.

A Spanish movie: Pan’s Labyrinth

In this year’s Oscar, I noted a movie has been nominated from Mexico. I always love to watch movies of Mexican directors for their brilliance in visually rich tales with poignant relationships between characters. This year, the film that topped among the top 5 foreign movies in the Oscar race was actually directed by a Mexican director, but it is set after the Spanish Civil War during 1944. Still I was interested to watch it as soon as I can get it. Last Day I bought it and skipped my gym to see it in the first place. The name of the movie is, “Pan’s Labyrinth”.

Habibul Bashar

Toady in India-Bangladesh first ODI, Habibul Bashar or in short Haba, the captain of Bangladesh, got out for a duck. the Bangladesh team did not seemed surprised, even for a moment I thought Haba himself was not surprised and the spectators seemed relieved from some dot balls. Now each and every match the same reel is playing, no one to change the pace. Haba, being faulty with his poor batting style at this age, does not seem to fit the bill. yet we are opting for the same player to retain the captain’s position.the reason we are being told is that he is the most successful captain of all time. come on is not this the best brunch of players of all time? I have seen Bulbul, Akram and Jahangir, all of them were crap. Not only that, the players waiting outside in the cue are better than the guys going to disappear in few years. The more our team gets mature, the better it will become, what’s the point of a captain who can’t field, can’t bat and definitely can’t lead? the team is performing automatically, its open and clear.
