Two Old Songs

Today while I was in the car I was thinking of these two songs and how to collect them. I had both of them in my PC, but my Hard disk crashed along with many other nice collections last year.

The first song is from the movie Razia Sultan. 'Jalta hay badan' iby Lata Mungeskar. when I had it, it was nothing special back then, except for the dance of the co-artists, and now for so many days when I dont own it any more, I am dying to hear it again. these days i usually search every thing in internet and I planned that any how I will collect this song. I collected it from Dekhona.com after hours of trying.

Habibul Bashar

Toady in India-Bangladesh first ODI, Habibul Bashar or in short Haba, the captain of Bangladesh, got out for a duck. the Bangladesh team did not seemed surprised, even for a moment I thought Haba himself was not surprised and the spectators seemed relieved from some dot balls. Now each and every match the same reel is playing, no one to change the pace. Haba, being faulty with his poor batting style at this age, does not seem to fit the bill. yet we are opting for the same player to retain the captain’s position.the reason we are being told is that he is the most successful captain of all time. come on is not this the best brunch of players of all time? I have seen Bulbul, Akram and Jahangir, all of them were crap. Not only that, the players waiting outside in the cue are better than the guys going to disappear in few years. The more our team gets mature, the better it will become, what’s the point of a captain who can’t field, can’t bat and definitely can’t lead? the team is performing automatically, its open and clear.

Meril-Prothom Alo Award 07

Fortunately I was present in this biggest showbiz event in Bangladesh- Meril Prothom Alo Award giving ceremony 2007. It held on Friday evening, 13th April. I am glad to watch and talk with Sohana Saba, apparently the next biggest screen star in Bangladesh. She got Best Actress award in Film Category for a flick I would never watch for names like Kobori attached at the director’s slot. Still, when Sohana saba walked in the guild, with black sari and sleeveless top, I was stunned with her presence and smartness, and it did not take long for me to take her side in upcoming announcement for top actress.

Pohela boisakh

I had a very good Pohela Boisakh (new year in bangladeshi calender) this year; thanks to my Warid Telecom friend, this could not be any better. we stayed at the DU up to 3PM, and I must say, this was the biggest crowd over my living eyes! I certainly feel that we should have such festivals more and more each year not only one. Apart from the fun and all that, one thing did not skip from my mind- there were thousands of girls wearing saris and all of them are red colored but no two saries are same! How come they find so different designs where Bangladesh have only few sari companies? In production philosophy, a certain design should be produced 4000/5000 pcs to recover time and creativity charges. And also who are these designers doing so many designs? how they get so many concepts in same theme? Is Bangladesh such a profitable market already that so many variant saries are produced aiming this middle income- fewest festival nation?

“Meri duniya mein”: A hindi song

Today I have been able to collect a song which I was looking for a long time. The song is from a hindi movie Heer Ranjha. I was in class Eight when We, me and my brother heard this song. Amused and vibrated by this song, I tried to make everyone from our cricket team hear it when we had team meeting in my house. Though I was not sure how many of them liked, I convinced to myself that my team mates don't have good taste in music. I lost this cassette many years back.

Since this song is not popular and not from recent time, only a handful may have actually heard it here in Bangladesh. The song starts with this line with a very subtle melody 'Meri duniya mein tum ayee', and the rhythm remains same throughout the song. Very romantic, very delicate and very sweet song indeed. I like it very mush and hope you will also like it. I am not sure but I guess it was sung by Md. Rafi and Lata.
