I have graduated from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka which is considered to be the best source of business masterminds in Bangladesh. I am one of the luckiest students of the country to finish the graduation within 4 years. Passing the HSC in August 1998, I started my BBA in January 1999 and completed my studies before February 2003.
Later I joined as System Analyst in SRG Bangladesh LTD, the same organization where I was attached during my internship. I worked there as System Analyst though my major was marketing, not MIS. I worked there for 6 months and I should say it was a compact learning phase in my life. Then in September 2006, I switched to Gulf Oil, ranked 3rd in world lubricant oil industry.
I got the biggest break in my career when Keya Cosmetics Ltd appointed me as Brand Manager and offered me to serve the position of PS to chairman as well. My job description ranged from brand development to export marketing, product development to raw material import. This was hardest part of my life; first leave I took was after 17 months of my joining. Then in May 2006, I was promoted to Asst. General Manager, Brand.
From 13 July 2008, I am working at Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh as Manager, Local Buying. My current job is in Supply Chain Department and my office is in Gulshan. This is by position quite different from my career line, but my previous job involved a lot of planning & logistics, so I consider the job responsibility here in Reckitt Benckizer has many things common to my strong points.
My core strength lies in Computer. and during these years, I have learnt one thing, if you really like to go up the ladder, work relentlessly until your boss request you to work less. There is no shortcut of hard labor. Apart from this, be honest to yourself and judge your work by yourself. As a freelancer, I work for Graphic design, Corporate & brand Identity design and Web development. I also have expertise in Video Editing, sound editing, and animation; I usually master my own home made movies.
My future plan for next 2 years involves reapearing GMAT, and applying to a Full time American MBA. I also plan to start independent movie making anytime before turning to 30. I have thought of online ventures, and whatever I choose, it is 100% certain that this online service will be free, open to all.
Many people ask me what is my secret of my successful climbing and my answer has been always the same. During My professional life, one thing I always tried is finding easier and shorter way to accomplish every task and resolve every problem. Thanks to this practice, I have developed an urge to get into innovation. Regardless the complexity and nature of the problem, my approach to solution had been unique and more often than not, I could hit at the right point of the problem. And also, the main learning I got from business career is to be confident about your subordinates and fellow teammates. One thing I always believed that, if you have faith in your men and motivate them properly, they will reply accordingly. Miracles can be done by the ordinaries, because no one in the world is ordinary.
